I know that it's traditional for people to decorate their houses for Christmas. Apparently, it's now the trend to decorate for other holidays. The Easter tradition of hanging plastic eggs from your trees is on!! Join the crowd next year and be sure to decorate your house appropriately. Don't be the last one on your block to do this. 04/25/06 Driving on icy and snowy roads can be a real hassle !! After sliding around a corner and losing control (at only 15 MPH) I was stopped by a large, wooden guard rail. I was lucky enough to come home with a little momento from that event!Posted by Picasa

01/15/06 A young Red Tailed Hawk in flight off of Castle Rock. Castle Rock is one of my favorite places to just go for a walk and I've seen all sorts of birds all year long. This flight shot was made shortly after I had knelt down into a cactus. I did take some time (later) to yank the needles out of my knee. A painful but rewarding day.Posted by Picasa

10/27/05 Herds of elk hang out in RMNP every year. This doe was getting a drink as the late afternoon light just caught her perfectly. I was standing in a meadow surrounded by over 200 elk and I was in awe. It was fantastic and I can't wait to get back there next fall.Posted by Picasa

10/25/05 At one of my favorite places, Roxborough State Park, I passed by this huge 10 point buck as I drove out. I was no more than 15 feet from him and I snapped off 20 shots as the Park Ranger was behind me waiting for me to leave so he could close the gate. 10/10/05 The snow was damaging a lot of trees. Since it was early in the season the trees had not shed their leaves yet. Lots of people I know lost trees in their yard and I saw a number of large trees split in half. This guy recovered after the snow melted.Posted by Picasa

9/25/05 Went to Golden Gate Canyon park near Golden, CO. Most of the aspens had turned to their nice yellow color. Hiked about 5 miles up and down the mountains and was rewarded with some beautiful views. Thought I was going to get shut out since in the lower elevations it was really foggy in the morning. 7/17/05 I've played around with shooting Infrared with my Olympus 5050 and my Nikon D70. Not easy and it requires a lot of post processing work to get nice results. 6/23/05 From the top of Castle Rock I saw the storm in the distance. Shooting in continuous mode I fired off bursts of 4-5 shots and then reviewed/deleted until I lucked into catching some lightning. 4/25/05 So many places I drive to have wildlife on the side of the road. It constantly amazes me. A group of deer crossed the road and hopped the fence. This was about a half mile from where I work. I love Colorado.Posted by Hello

4/21/05 My coworkers had told me about Daniels Park as a good place to shoot birds. The day I went was fairly windy so the birds were not around, but I found a little prarie dog village across the street. 4/17/05 Every morning I get winged visitors on my porch. This House Finch and his buddies chirp constantly before dipping down to the nest in a tree just below. 4/12/05 After the big snow I went to Castlewood Canyon to shoot the views of Pike's Peak. It was hard to trudge thru 18 inches of snow ! After about a half hour I decided that I had had enough. It was beautiful though.Posted by Hello

3/27/05 Castlewood Canyon waterfall. I had been told about it numerous times and finally got a chance to go see and photograph it. The rocks at the bottom of the fall are covered with ice and snow. It was a cool day in more ways than one.Posted by Hello

2/15/05 An article in Petersons Photographic detailed taking an image and flipping it to make a mirror image. A co-worker talked to me about this and brought in some of his images. 11/08/04 I'm making the move to Colorado official - renting an apartment today. Gonna climb up Castle Rock while they get the place ready. The drive out here was long, but I got to see some cool things like the St Louis arch. Also got to drive in one of the worst rainstorms I've ever been in.
