I was no more than 15 feet from him and I snapped off 20 shots as the Park Ranger was behind me waiting for me to leave so he could close the gate. Since it was early in the season the trees had not shed their leaves yet. Lots of people I know lost trees in their yard and I saw a number of large trees split in half. Most of the aspens had turned to their nice yellow color. Hiked about 5 miles up and down the mountains and was rewarded with some beautiful views. Thought I was going to get shut out since in the lower elevations it was really foggy in the morning. When I arrived at the park it was sunny and nice. From what I saw, it's only a few weeks time for the thistles to be blooming before they start drying up.
