6/30/05 Chipmunks are elusive creatures but I was able to get within about 10 feet of this little guy. As I sat on the rocks he and his buddy darted around and stopped briefly to check me out. Within a few minutes they were gone, but I walked away with this nice protrait.

6/23/05 From the top of Castle Rock I saw the storm in the distance. Shooting in continuous mode I fired off bursts of 4-5 shots and then reviewed/deleted until I lucked into catching some lightning. Unfortunately, I almost got soaked as rain came my way too and I wound up running down the hill back to my car.

6/23/05 While exploring today I came across this sight. This boulder is about 15 feet tall and it looks as if it was placed just so. I can't imagine that it just 'happened' to roll down the hill and stop just perfectly set on the other stones. Who knows.

6/21/05 Handholding a 15 second exposure is not suggested ! Since my tripod was down in the car and it was raining I didn't feel like going to get it. Braced myself in a corner and caught this shot.

6/14/05 Driving home one night I spotted these 3 elk on the ridge. Only had a 200mm lens with me, but got some decent shots. Again, I'm constantly surprised with all the wildlife around. A few days after this I saw a Pronghorn Antelope in the same area.

6/7/05 Back at Castlewood Canyon. The robins were all over today, running on the ground after grasshoppers and other food. A few were up in the trees scouting the area.
